TSM has a long history working for Dwight Howard. In a time span of about 5 years, TSM has completed 2 websites, multiple videos, marketing materials, branding tools and social media campaigns for Dwight Howard and his hard working team.
Valentine’s Day 2011 marked the launch of Dwight Howard’s charity called the D12 Foundation. The D12 Foundation evolved from multiple charities into one all-encompassing foundation dedicated to providing a “long-standing and positive impact on the lives of children worldwide.” Leading up to the debut, TSM has helped Dwight compile the footage from his trips to China and Haiti to create a video that evokes emotion as you see the D12 Foundation in action. They kicked with a media day on Monday February 14th by showing the public how Dwight and the D12 Foundation plan on empowering children and teens around the world and in his own backyard with the help TSM crew.
Process:
In the beginning stages of the development of the D12 Foundation they first came to TSM to assist with the logo and branding of the charity. TSM worked diligently with the D12 Foundation’s Executive Director Brooke Zapata to build a brand and logo that represented the organic and sincere roots of the foundation while still staying true to the Dwight Howard brand.
Next was TSM’s web and graphics department worked on building the concept and layout for the D12 Foundation website www.D12Foundation.org. Key points were organization and visuals, creating a website that provided up to date news, visuals and activities of the D12 Foundation.
Keeping with the consistency of the D12 brand, TSM designed a handful of marketing tools including business cards, letterheads, posters and life size cutouts of Dwight Howard to give out during visits to hospitals and community centers.
Throughout this process of the building the website TSM’s social media team worked on establishing a social media presence for the charity. Twitter and facebook accounts were set up for the D12 Foundation uploading pictures and content leading up to the launch of the entire campaign.
Media Day – February 14, 2011:
The day of the D12 Foundation launch Dwight Howard visited 4 locations around Central Florida visiting children and promoting his new charity. TSM traveled with Dwight and the D12 Foundation to four different locations in Central Florida: Florida Hospital for Children, Special Olympics, Big Brothers Big Sisters Orlando and Dream Academy (for the full itinerary click here).
TSM will produce 5 separate videos of the media day launch, one for each of the four locations and one final video summing up the entire media day.
